FAQs
Statutory Accounts FAQs
When do statutory accounts need to be filed?
A private limited company normally has nine months from the end of its financial year to file accounts with Companies House. First accounts have a different deadline.
What is the difference between statutory accounts and management accounts?
Statutory accounts are the annual accounts required by law and filed with Companies House. Management accounts are internal reports, often monthly or quarterly, to help you run the business.
Do dormant companies need accounts?
Yes. Dormant companies still need to file annual accounts with Companies House, although they are much simpler.
What happens if accounts are filed late?
Companies House charges an automatic late filing penalty, which increases the later the accounts are. We make sure your deadline is met.
Do you also do the corporation tax return?
Yes. We prepare your company tax return alongside your accounts so everything is consistent.
How much do statutory accounts cost?
It depends on the size and complexity of your business. Call 020 8553 3504 or email us for a free quote.
